Offence

'It's now very common to hear people say, "I'm rather offended by that", as if that gives them certain rights. It's no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I'm offended by that." Well, so fucking what?'
- Stephen Fry

Genius.

I love Stephen Fry. He would be one of my 5 living or dead dinner party guests (everyone knows that game right?!)

I'm with Socrates on this.

Can't be arsed to waste any more time typing about Fry...that pompous old fart.

Hi Mandy,

I am just back from an extended period of what the professionals call "BatShitCrazy" ie can't find it in the DSM, but definitely away with the færies.

My attempts to get a BiPolar dx have been stymied by my now automatic response to impending madness - getting as far away from MH staff as possible.

Fry blocked me on Twitter for "Talk about breaking the Forth Wall - this is thermo-nuking the whole West End".

Well, it was one of his office staff who actually hit the block button, I imagine...

I've never met him so wouldn't judge him. What I do comment on are his thoughts, his ideas . . . he has such a keen intellect and some things he says just resonate.

His view that "I'm offended" is just a whine, equating to "I don't like to hear that" is spot on but not a thought I'd had, until her pointed it out.

Like him or loathe him, he's a sharp mind, and has sharp ideas, and that I do admire!
