Going through my last few posts, I get results either of David Foster Wallace or of Dan Brown. Curious!

Foster Wallace I can understand, but Dan Brown?

Dan Brown is pretty much a doggerel writer to me. I would not be flattered.....

Indeed, it's not all flattering, and although David Foster Wallace came up as my first result, I only thought it fair and honest to 'fess up to less laudable writing, too.

I put in three examples from Dr Grumble and got Foster Wallace followed by Dan Brown followed by Leo Tolstoy at which point I stopped.

Dan Brown? Does that mean you write exciting stuff, but really badly?

I got Arthur Conan-Doyle!

I get Wallace - I presume due to excessive footnotes.

I got David Foster Wallace as well.
